Victoria Film School Acting Classes
Program Goals:
  1. To introduce and familiarize students with approach tools techniques and knowledge that will equip them to enter the profession of acting, with a particular emphasis on acting for film and television.

  2. To assist students in the development of skills and abilities which will help them to maintain a healthy balance between an understanding of acting as an art form - with an ancient and complex history - and a realistic perception of the contemporary industry and its demands.

  3. To equip the students with a strong and balanced sense of self-reliance so that they are well resourced to enter a competitive and sometimes ruthless business.
Admission Policy:

Each applicant who is applying for admission to the school is required to furnish the information necessary for the School record. Canadian and US students who are living abroad must provide proof of citizenship (photocopies of passport or birth certificate). Applicants must:

(Your letter of interest should be a minimum of one page and typed on 8.5 x 11-inch white paper.)

  6. Once an applicant has been accepted into a program a deposit of 20% of the total fee is required to guarantee a seat in the class. This deposit is due and payable within 14 days of notification of acceptance. This is 90% refundable if registration is cancelled prior to the beginning of classes.

NOTE: Enrollment is limited to 20 students.

Program Overview

The acting program takes a spiral, rather than a linear approach to learning. Students actively study principles of acting from a variety of perspectives: sometimes taking a broad overview, sometimes focusing on specific details, sometimes working in great depth, sometimes using a light and playful approach. As a result, the student is encouraged to develop an individual approach to the work of acting. Students should therefore be prepared to bring their whole selves into the course; for that is the raw material with which they will be working.

The program consists of 4 modules (total: 34 weeks : 25 Hours/week).
